does anybody know if a lower unit off a 82 50 merc will fit on this motor or know where i can buy one at a resonable price |

HI. THE LOWER UNIT FROM THE 50 HP WILL FIT HOWEVER THE GEAR RATIO IS NOT THE SAME AS YOUR 70 HP. YOU WILL NOT BE SATISFIED WITH THE PERFORMANCE AND COULD POSSIBLY DAMAGE THE POWERHEAD. I CAN REBUILD ONE FOR YOU RESEALED, RESHIMMED, AND NEW WATER PUMP.I AM A MERCURY CERTIFIED MASTER TECHNICIAN AND HAVE BEEN REBUILDING THESE GEAR CASES FOR MORE THAN 20 YEARS. THE COST IS $1400.00 CDN PLUS FREIGHT AND TAX. PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF YOU WANT ME TO GO AHEAD. I WOULD NEED TO KNOW IF YOU NEED LONG OR SHORT SHAFT LOWER UNIT. I ACCEPT VISA, CHECK, OR MONEY ORDER.
