I am new to boating, but have a very extensive mechanical backround. I recently picked up a 32' foot Chris Craft, that has most of the twin chevy 350's either in the boat or soon to be in my garage. Is this the best size engine for this boat? How can I indentify the types of transmission that are attached to the engines? How much horsepower will I need to efficiently power this craft? What should the transmission ratio be, and what are the determining factors thereof? ANY AND ALL HELP AND SUGGESTION WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED..

What year is the boat? I am pulling my 327's and replacing them with 350's.

It's a 1967 model. Also... any suggestions on removing excess oil from the bilge? somebody must have been careless when removing the engines from the boat, and there is quite a coating of grease and oil in the bilge. Does this present a threat, other than the unpleasant smell? |
