I was wondering if anyone could tell me were I can obtain oringinal color paint for a 1992 Evinrude 15hp motor because I want to re-paint the cowlin. I need to know what kind of lube is recommended for the lower unit. Does anyone know if they still make GameFisher outboards I have a 1960? through 1980? 7.5 horse power Game Fisher outboard and could any body tell me were I can obtain parts for it. The post (evinrude wont die) is my original post and joe told me the button that screws in and out of the outboards Tiller handel Joe told me it ajusts the idel and it don`t respond to it at all when I adjust it what could be causing this problem also it is hard to start even after running it a while it has fresh gas in it and we cleaned the spark-plugs what could be causing this problem. (15hp evinrude 1992)Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hacsaw..... The paint can be purchased at any dealership that is handling any of OMC's line, and perhaps at other marine dealerships.
The lower unit uses "HiVis" 80/90 lube. This is available at K-Mart, Wal*Mart, marine dealerships, etc. The K-Mart/Wal*Mart brand is "LubriMatic" and is a top quality lubricant and of course somewhat more reasonable in price.
The button or rather the end portion of the tiller handle that you can turn doesn't actually adjust the idle mixture. It is an adjustable mechanical idle stop. Turning it in (clockwise) will increase the idle rpms, turning it out (counter clockwise) will lower the rpms.
If you have good compression and spark on both cylinders.... spark that will jump a 7/16" gap with the s/plugs removed, and the engine is hard starting..... the usual cause is a fouled gummed carburetor.

I don't think that they still make Gamefisher motors. These were made by Force which was then made by Chrysler. Force is now owned by Mercury, so you might try looking at any Merc dealership to see if they have any of these parts. Another avenue you might take is to search some of the parts sites on this website for parts. Some of these sites have old and obsolete parts. Lots of possibilities. Just check out the links. |
