I agree with stan . its not worth wakeing up at4 am finding your boat half full of warter replace it, replace it, replace it . many of boats have been lost because of a 40.00$ valve. make sure its marine grade the ones at your local hardware store look the same but are not. |

The nut and lock nut on the shaft opposite the handle is for tightening and loosening the taper shaped plug in its bore. Loosen the nuts about a half turn and strike the shaft in area of the nuts lightly w/ a hammer. Best to place a piece of metal against the shaft so as not to damage the threads. When free, work the handle back and forth, then retighten the nut lightly until there is resistance. At next haulout dissassemble, clean and grease. |
