I have a 1978 Bayliner w/ a AQ170 Volvo engine. It has three single barrel carbs. Can anyone please tell me the most accurate way to adjust the air/fuel mix on the three carburators. The engine appears to be running rich. (Black exhaust and carbon build-up on the plugs)
Thanks!

Hello Dan,

It would be best for you to purchase a Clymer shop manual. I was just looking through mine and they explain how to synch those carbs - but it would be best to have the illustrations in front of you or the explanation doesn't make sense.

Buy the book - it doesn't look too hard to adjust those carbs.

Hope this helps,

Dan and Tom,

Here is a link to Amazon for Clymer Volvo Stern Drive Shop Manual - 1968-1993. Is that the correct one?

Tom,
I have a 1973 24’ boat with twin 170s, double trouble. I need someone to rebuild the
circulating water pumps. New ones if you can
find them are terribly expensive, like the exhaust
manifolds. Do you have a source for parts?
