A buddy has a old outboard I think its a 7-9Hp, maybe a 5Hp. It has 500 Brooklure on side of powerhead cover. The motor looks kinda old, and I was wondering if anyone has heard of this motor? |

According to The Old Outboard Book by Peter Hunn:
"Spiegel, Inc, the famous Chicago-based mail-order house, decided to get into the outboard business in 1950. Motors wearing the Brooklure label were manufactured by Outboard Marine's Gale Products Division, of Galesburg, Illinois.
Over its production run, Brooklure outboards came in sizes from 1-1/2 to 25hp. Records show the 1958 Brooklures made up the last of their line"
