You should probaly contact Sulzer to ask them, I beleive you are refering to model numbers.
I beleive that Sulzer engines are manufactured by Wartsila and their approved Licencees, here is a link to Wartsila's Web site.

SULZER BROTHERS IS LOCATED IN WINTERTHER, SWITZERLAND. They license other builders to build their engines all over the world EX: Mitsubihi is a licensed builder They are very large H.P. 2 stroke slow speed in the range of 100 rpm, up to and above 60,000 H.P. The first large 2 cycle was an "R" "RD" (turbocharged) "RND" "RND-M" Each letter designated a modification to the previous. The M in RND-M is a modified RND with a single forged cyl. cover and has a higher mip and exhaust temps. There are several bore sizes of each model Ex: RND 76, rnd 90 (760MM BORE AND 900MM BORE. RL (LONG STROKE) The above have no exhaust valve but have intake and exhaust ports and are loop scavenged. The RTA has an exhaust valve on top. Sulzer also designed smaller medium speed 4 stroke engines. |
