thinking of repowering diesels. im looking for some imput/advice as to the appilcations i should be looking at. currently the boat is equipped with 350 crusader engines, borgwarner 71c transmissions and a walter rv20d V-drives. can anyone tell me what diesel engine and transmission set ups would fit in the space that i have available? im looking for around 300hp give or take and since its a V-drive application the exhaust needs to directed to the front of the engine. thanks for any help |

Yanmar makes good repower options. http://www.yanmarmarine.com/ The most cost effective repower (by a wide margin) is to overhaul the 350 Crusaders you have in the boat. They should be marinized Chevy power plants that can be bought for $3k each. You can spend $50k on diesels. And with all due respect - in the end, its still a 77 Silverton. |
