my friend has a 2001 master craft that I believe has a indmar 351 in it. We have taken it out a number of times and it runs fine for about an hour and then begins to make a high squeeling noise and will not stop. It will make the noise even at idle. We have not been able to get the motor to make the sound in the driveway so it has been very frustrating. We also took it to a mastercraft dealer who took it out on the lake and said they had no problems with it. It definately has something wrong with it. I think it has to be a bearing or something but we can't tell where it is coming from. Anyone with any ideas of what it could be?

He say's he put in a new alternator the year before and it does not have that many hours on it. Would you still think it is the alternator? The noise is petty loud. Do you think he should just replace the alternator.
