I purchased a 1992 Sunbird with a Cobra outdrive (5.0L Model#987124). The boat was orginally powered by a Ford 302 but needs to be replaced. I do not have the original engine. Should I repower it with a Ford or Chevy? If I do repower with a Chevy, what changes/modifications will be needed? Ford engines seems to have a poor reputation that I am unaware of. Your opinions and suggestions are greatly appreciated!! |

I would recommend G.M. you will need a flywheel housing and coupler to fit. do some research re: exhaust. make sure it will connect ok. |
