Change the X to a K. 71 made by Clinton, model J500 if looking for a manual or parts. Champion plug CJ8 at .030 Points at .020 Should be able to run 50:1 fuel but might consider 24:1 if hasn't been run in a while. |

The two look alike because they are the same motor with different decals. Made by Gale in 48 for the Wards and 47 for the Seabee. Both use J8C plug at .025 gap, points set at .020, and use 1/2 pint oil per gallon of fuel. You might try here for the manual. The one from Johnson might work (maybe differences in the lower unit/shift setup if there is one) or you might try discount-marine-parts.com. |

Josh, the J500 and the 27005 point to the 70-71 Clinton make. Try a search here for posts about the Clinton motor J500 model. Also someone over at aomci.org may have more info. |
