I am looking for a parts place for a sea king 5hp. numbers on the plate are GG18736B & 16X822171. I would like to know what year this motor was made as well.

My info says that is a 1961 built by Gale, and shares many common parts with Johnson and Evinrude. Tune up parts and carb kits should be the same as a 1961 5 HP from those manufacturers, but I am not sure. I have a similar motor but have not gotten around to working on it yet. |

This is the best place to find out info on old SeaKing motors. Click on link, then select your brand on the left side. You can find out more about your model at this site. Repair manuals are available at this site too...

Try Evinrude or Johnson parts too! They work with this motor.Don't ask shops for SeaKing parts, they;ll look at you crosseyed. Ask for parts from Evinrude and Johnson that are comparable. You may have to take the part in to get a perfect fit. |
