I just bought a 17 foot fishing boat with a 125 1988 Force. I would image that it should push a boat this size pretty good, well it doesn't. It takes forever to plane and once it does it moves like a wounded snail. Is there anyway easy to check the horsepower output on this? It sounds fine, doesn't seem to be missing or anything it just is very weak. Thanx foe any help NYDoug |

First- you should post with the "Chrysler" questions. Next- you will want to do a compression test. This will tell you if you want to continue. This motor can run on 2 cylinders and sound great. So do a spark test. You are probably missing a cylinder. Water pump working? change it. Is the oil in the lower nice and clean- no metal? That is the quick basics and if you have the ignition problems- that is a new post. Have fun and get er done. |
