I would like to know about a Montgomery Ward Sea King 7.5 HP outboard motor, model # K7515106B,serial # 1511553, type # XTV50575B, made by the Clinton Engines Corp. I'm looking for books, parts or any info. I was just given this motor, and it has not run for 5+ years. If you have any info, please e-mail me. Thanks |

Hi Tom, I have pretty much the same engine you do and am also looking for any info I can find. Mine is the Sea King made by Clinton,
Model# K751 5106 B
Serial# 1510539
Type# XTV 50575 B
I did find out it's a 1978 model (yours too) from this site:

While surfing tonight for more info I also saw a guy on eBay that had owners manual and parts list for the K751 model for $5.99 plus $2.99 shipping. The eBay item number is 360035597349.

I am new to the forum and just acquired a Sea King (Clinton) I know only very little about small engines and even less on older engines.
The Engine on mine runs perfect...well close enough to make me happy...so I really want to salvage this motor.
I have a K7515106A Type XTV50575A With Serial 15131274.....First can anyone lead me to a parts list for this motor...second can someone guide me were to find parts such as (forgive my ignorance here) the two ummm linkage pieces....the parts that are engaged when you place the motor in forward. (They have three "teeth") Third....just any information at all that you can give me...PLEASE! |

Me, too...
I was given a Montgomery Ward Sea King 7.5 recently, am wanting to take it out for a spin. It is Air Cooled, has a Clinton engine. I started it up and it seems to run fine, but has a loud clunk every so often. This motor does not have reverse, just neutral and forward.
It is serial number 998245
Type XTV5225
model K750 31076
It looks like it has been barely used, everything in it looks brand new.
What should I watch out for? Any tips and tricks would be much appreciated. |

This is the best place to find out info on old SeaKing motors. Click on link, then select your brand on the left side. You can find out more about your model at this site. Repair manuals are available at this site too...

Try Evinrude or Johnson parts too! They work with this motor.Don't ask shops for SeaKing parts, they;ll look at you crosseyed. Ask for parts from Evinrude and Johnson that are comparable. You may have to take the part in to get a perfect fit. |
