All directions on an engine are from the point of view of being in the driver's seat in a car. Hence right is the passenger side and left is the driver side. (American car). Front is forward and rear is the flywheel end. Ford V8 engines are numbered with #1 at the right front and the right side is 1234. Left side is 5678. Normal rotation firing order on the normal 302 is (I think) 15426378. Reverse order would be 18736245. You should check to make sure of the 302 firing order as I am going by memory. Also there is another 302 firing order if it is a High Output 302. These engines use the 351W cam and firing order.
