351 indmar, holley 4160: stalls when put into gear? Idle and revs OK out of gear. No vacuum leak at base of carb. timing set @ 6 BTD dwell at 28 deg.
Could it be the power valve
or bad PVC valve?

Pull the hose off the pcv valve at idle, if the motor immediately revs up higher, your pcv is working. If the motor does not rev, then that carb has been adjusted to compensate for the extra air coming in from the stuck open pcv valve.
