w/ all that people seem to know bout Interceptor nobody can tell me the last year for the 312 (or 292)?!
BTW half the replies on some posts are so off the subject from the orig its not funny. Start a new post! |

Ford's last year for building the 292 / 312 was 1962. 1963 started the 289 small block 1962 started the 221 / 260. the 221 motor only lasted 2 years. and 3 years for the 260. the bore for the 221 is 3-1/2" stroke 2.87. the bore for the 260 is 3-3/4" stroke 2.87. the bore for the 289 is 4.00" stroke is 2.87. These 3 motors built on the same block.I know this is an old posting but someone might like to have this information.

Last year for 292 = 1964
Last year for 312 = 1959
My Ford F100 pickup has a 292 in it. It's a
stock 64.
62 sounds right for cars though. The 312 didn't
last that long though (at least in cars) My 312
Interceptor is a 59 block but built new in a 61
boat.
The 289 didn't hit the streets until 64 & only
after the first Mustangs & Cobras were built
with 260 V8s. |
