I have been stumped!! this boat will only rev to 2800 and drop to 2300. I used my mustang scanner and i had a MAP sensor alarm so i replaced the sensor and cleared all coded. I checked and had a code 11 which is all good. Back at the lake it still only reved to 2800. i checked the codes and they are all good?

is this the limp mode? How do i tell what is causing it and how do i clear it? what all can cause the limp mode?
thanks
chris

today i changed the oil / filter. no problems there. the oil pressure is 40psi. when i 1st start the engine i can rev above 3000 but after about 10 seconds the check engine lights up and the 2800 rev limiter kicks in. this happens in gear or neutral and I do not believe it is fuel related. it is to consistant.

what all causes the engine to go into limp mode? the computer has no stored codes.
thanks
chris

Did anyone ever figure this one out. This sounds exactly like what my boat is doing. Thanks in advance.
