first off im not a mechanic but my buddy is and asked me to research the problem for him. 190 hrs on the boat. Was running fine then just stopped running while doing about 35. Took off the distributor cap to find that the metal piece that spins with the tabs on it, got bent on one tab and skipped outside of the switch and tore up the switch a little. After bending back the tab and replacing the switch still nothing. Now with the ignition on and trying to start the boat no spark. But when he bypasses the ignition somehow with the tester he can get the first two spark plugs to spark. Were really stumped. Should he replace the module with all of the Spark plug connections. He said it has a computer that may be bad? Please help... |
