I bought my 87 american skier advance a few months ago, and have been restoring it this summer. It was trashed, and basically needed to have everything removed and refurbished. The engine (351w) had some very poor work done on it, and the rings seized to the pistons. I rebuilt the engine ( no machine work, everything was within tolerances) and it runs pretty well. I also rebuilt the carb, however it was in rough shape due to being used in salt water. Where I am having problems is when I take a moderate to sharp turn. The engine will begin to lose power, and bog down, dropping rpm. If I hold the turn long enough, the engine will eventually stall out. This may take 10-15 seconds of turning, maybe a bit longer. I do believe the secondaries are opening, however its hard to watch the carb and drive, so I cant see if they are getting gas. Anyone ever experience this before, or have an idea what it might be? Its driving me crazy. I have checked to the float levels, so i dont think its related to that. Thank you lightfoot |

Did you ever resolve this? I am having an issue with this as well... I have a 90 Ski Brendella with a 351w in it... just purchased it not running, rebuilt the engine but not the carb, now I am having issues in the turns and if I keep the bow up for a long time. |

Did you check fuel pump pressure, or tank vent for obstructions |

My problem ended up being a stuck float in the carb... at the right angle it would stick... |
