1989 supra 351 pcm possible shaft issue

Author Message   CHAD ALLEN New member Username: rowdya27 Post Number: 2 Registered: 04-2009 Posted on Friday, July 03, 2009 - 12:06 am:    i am having a problem i never experienced before when i put the transmission into gear the trans enguages and the shaft that is attached to the transmission spins. but the shaft on the outside of the boat that the prop is attached to is spinning freely i can move it by hand with the trans in gear, is there a coupling or u joint i am missing any help will be greatly appreciated this has never happened before   Robert E. In which case there may be another key coupling the two shafts. If it's the keyway inside the prop, the shaft should still be spinning (outside the boat) but the prop would not.
