My atomic 4 runs fine in neutral but when i put it in gear it stalls out ( in both forward and reverse) what could be the cause of this and what do i need to do to fix it ? |

experienced a problem like this years ago. Problem was caused by back pressure in the exhaust system. The verical riser was filled with rust and scale. |

Check your spark plugs to see if they are sooty and black, which may indicate a back-pressure issue. Those big, ugly "aqualift" mufflers that look like hot water tanks are notorious for plugging up and causing excessive back-pressure. They are often fitted on sailboats powered by atomics. |
