1986 Westerbeke 7.5kw Gas with 150 hours on it doesnt seem to smoke but I notice thin patches of oil that forms into little pools of black soot. This is in Northern Calif waters...so water temp is 49-degrees. Lack of running or am I looking to have to replace something??? |

My Universal M-18 exhaust leaves some black soot on the transom. The marina staff cleaned the air cleaner and did a compression test. One cylinder was a little under the specs.
Question, could the decompression lever be the problem?
Question, could it be an injector problem?
What has anyone experienced with similar problems.
