Can anyone tell me what temperature a Perkins 6.354 should run at? Also can anyone advise the best way to fit a rev counter? PS. I dont have a "T" on my alternator. |

It should run from 180 to 190 F. As for the tach, buy a new altenator with a tach output. Make sure the pulley is the correct size. You calibrate it with a hand held unit that you may have to rent. The calibration will be on the tach itself. |

Hey Rob, If you have a tool store"HarborFreight" nearby, run down and get yourself a Centech Laser hand tach and a IR temp.gauge. It takes lots of the guesswork out, along with a clamp-on DC amp/voltmeter from Sears, You've got that Perkins troubleshot... |
