I have a 3 cyl Perkins 103 xxxxx engine in a sailboat with 1,122 hrs on it. Hasn.t been run in a few years. I changed the oil, filters, both pri & secondary all gasket and all hoses. I can bleed it up to the top of the high pressure pump but then I'm not able to get diesel up to the injectores.
Any hel is greatly appreciated. Bob

On my 4.236 I have the same problem. I usually have to crack one of the injectors and crank until it fires. Sometimes that takes upwards of 20 seconds. Not sure how that applies to your situation.

Here is a good article on bleeding perkins:

BOB, I HAVE A 4-108 PERKINS AND WENT THROUGH HELL GETTING ALL THE LINES BLED OUT BEFORE IT WOULD RUN. START FROM SCRATCH.IF YOU HAVE AN ELECTRIC FUEL PUMP AS I DO,START THERE AND GO THROUGH YOUR WHOLE SYSTEM. CHECKING ALL HOSES AND YOUR PRIMARY AND THEN CRACK EACH FUEL LINE AT THE INJECTORS AND TURN OVER THE ENGINE UNTIL IT SPITS FUEL.SOMETIMES IF THE PRIMARY FILTER IS NOT A CANISTER IT WILL SUCK AIR AROUND THE O-RING WITH MINIMAL LEAKAGE. 99% OF THE TIME IT'S AIR IN THE LINE WITH A DIESEL, GOOD LUCK,RUSTY
