Hi, I'm researching on behalf of a friend who has just bought a lovely old boat from the 1920s with a Perkins 6 cylinder from, we believe, the 1950s. What looks like the engine number is C0280106. The pics of the engine and various numbers are viewable here. I need to find the engine model so I can find the part numbers for the flywheel gear ring and the starter motor geared drive - both have been chewed up by mismatched gears!

Any help most gratefully received

Many thanks in advance

Martin

Martin: Look for a model/serial number stamped into the mounting plate of the fule injection unit.

Gentry: 90% sure its air. check fuel filter seals and lift pump. Take the top plate off the lift pump and make sure the neoprene seal where the fuel line enters has not turned to jelly.
