Michael
Run it at 75% of its total rpm. To find it run it at WOT for a short time 1-2 mins then figure 75% 1700 is good for fuel saving but to low to be 75%, and can hurt the engine not help it.

Anyone have fuel consumption figures(gph) for rpm settings on ford lehman 120hp engines. Considering buying a trawler with the lehamn engine. Thx.

I'm running the same boat; 1979 Marine Trader Europa with a 120 Lehman. I have been running @ 1750 rpms while only cruising at about 6 kts. The prop is a 4 blade 24 X 16. I have a spare 3 blade 23 X 16. Which prop should I use? I need another knot!
Thanks - Loyd
