i've purchased a lehman equipped boat. with 2130 hours on the clock and after speaking with the p/o the engine is due for a head torque and valve adjustment. i have the manuals, but have a question about operating temp. it is unlikely that i will be able to perform the above in the water as the boat is on a mooring. i have the motor set up to be flushed with fresh water through the intake strainer. will running it on the hard enable me to get the temp in the right range to adjust properly? id be more comfortable doing my first adjustment on dry land. any other tricks to the process? do i have to compensate for doing it warm vs hot? |
