Does anyone know the weight of the 2712E as I am trying to get the correct engine mounts. I have a PRM 500 gearbox which weighs 70kg, perhaps someone can recommend good flexable mounts. I presently have a lot of vibration below 1000 rpm and would like to get it out below idling.

The 2712E weighs 874 pounds.
The 2715E weighs 1092 pounds
The 2704ET (turbo 6 cyl) weighs 1120 pounds
All weights less transmission.
Per the 1978 Lehman operators manual.

What we have found works best is using R&D Marine mounts #800-011 and move the rear mount brackets onto the transmission which spreads the load more evenly. Sometimes adding a flex coupling like the R&D # 910-009 can help. Or, you can go "Cadillac" and install an aquadrive with their cushy float mounts.

Thank you Michael, I am not familiar with the R&D mounts I am a New Zealand yacht presently in Malaysia. Do they have a web site or do you have a contact for them please. I have a double universal and thrust bearing set up between the gearbox and prop shaft. I appreciate your suggestions

web address is: http://www.randdmarine.com/aboutus.asp
These are also available here in Washington - approx $65.00 each. Transmission mount brackets are also available if needed - need dimension from top of stringer to mount hole pattern on side of gear.
