Just bought a sailboat with a Ford Lehman engine. Has just over 4000 hours. Has been babied all its life. Not familiar with diesels at all.
Any suggestions as to a maintainance schedule or things I should look out for? Previous owner really looked after her--couldn't get any cleaner in the engine compartment.

Valve clearances are checked periodically. Check them to establish a baseline and check them every 500 to 1000 hours or as the maintenance manual recommends.

I have been told to change the oil every 100-150 hours of operation. No problem. What is the "injector pump"?
