New engine, Yanmar 4JH4AE in a 43' sailing boat starts, but dies in several seconds. This happens most of the time. But there is one case that this happens 100%. I shut off engine after motoring enough to make it hot. Within about 1 hour of waiting, it starts properly, but if I wait, let's say 2 or 3 hrs, and attempt to start, it starts and dies for sure. It's a new model with also a new injection pump. It's been 2 months and authorized mechanic couldn't find a solution so far. Hope someone helps. |

Our S/Y has also one of the new 4JH4AE Yanmar engines, there is a starting problem that has not been solved up today. Engine dies several seconds later after cold starting. In spite of your pursuing attempts, it dies each time unless you set the idle speed at least 75% of full throttle. When it starts once, it operates smoothly. No air in the lines, or no bad fuel. Authorized local Yanmar service checked everything. |
