refresh my memory this is a v8 configuration 4.5 bore correct? |

Yes. 4-stroke. Not sure of the bore.
It was usually mated with the Marine Gear MG513 transmission. |

this engine was in eguipment, the 980a loader and the 621 scaper. it sounds like its coming apart and thats ok it is when it sound good thats bad.
it is a dual overhead cams on both sides, it has balancer shafts or gears on the back side of the front and the front side of the rear. if you take them out they have to be timed when you put them back on the engine. to adjust the valves you click through a detint so many clicks. don't remember the valve lash. |
