I have a small leak at the lower aft lifter cover on my 3116. I tried re-torquing the bolt but no help. I got a gasket but need to know if there are any tricks to removing the cover. Lots of gas engine experience, no diesel engine experience.

one the push rods need to be removed before you can take the cover off. secound that means that the rocker arm assemblies have to be removed. next you will have to have the injector height re-adjusted, along with the valves, that are removed to the cover you took off. would have all injector and valves done while someone is doing those, aready have the valve cover off. |
