What is chance that CAT 3116s & transmissions are salvageable after the boat sunk? I am thinking of buying a 36' boat at a salvage price. Not sure of duration under water or what was done immediately afterwards. Dealer said the engines were stabilized but will need work. How would I best go about getting it assessed? Any idea of what the cost might be to recommission the engines? The boat is in NC & I am in MA. Thanks, Scott |

YOU NEED TO GET HOLD OF A CAT DEALER AND HAVE ENGINE INSPECTED BY THEM. |

On Sea Rays it is often the case that they list the twin engines to be CAT's 3116, or a 3116 TA, or a 3126 TA, yet, all post that the engines generate either 340 or 350 HP. What is the actual HP of the above engines? |
