Changed belts at 200hrs on Cummins 270 engines.
Replacement belt on strbrd engine shredded at 400 hrs. Replaced again and only lasted 26 hrs.
Pulleys are tight and spin freely. What is problem? |

Check the pulley alignment. Just because it spins free does not mean it is aligned. |

I know that this post is over a year old but someone may benefit from this information in the future.
They had an issue with belt guards hitting the belts. I'd take a good look at that. |
