Greetings,
A senior mercruiser member referred me to this group. My neighbor has a Mer.Cru. 6.4 in a 30 ft. Maxum. Its nearly new and tends to backfire at or over 3000 rpm. He had an updated ECM installed and was wondering if the timing is off or , belt stretch? Does the ECM control the mixture and could it be running lean?

Yes ECM control most of the engines systems. Is this a Horizon engine? |
