I’ve got used Sealine S41 -2001 with twin Mercruiser 7.3 D-tronic diesel engine and Bravo –X outdrives. The engines has 250 Hrs only. But I’m going know throw the hell
with these engine. Problems are:
1. The long alternator bolt gets broken after 10-20 hrs and I used the strongest ones.
2. Oil pressure dropped down on port engine.
3. Oil leak on starboard engine ( 1 gal per 20-30 miles). I don’t see were is coming from but the bilge is full of oil.
Has anyone knew about any problem like that or other on this engine. Or recall. Or any info. Please let me know . skleyit@yahoo.com

1. The alternators may be to large in amps, try lower amp alts. Or the belts may be to tight.
2. The oil pressure may be low because of plugged pick up screen in oil pan, plugged filter or worn oil pump.
3. The leaky oil in the starboard engine sounds like a main oil seal or if your lucky it is just a hole in the oil pan or hose. If it is a main oil seal the engine will have to be pulled out of the boat for repairs.
Good luck

Hello everybody,

Sorry for my english, I will do my best to be clear.

I just get a bargain boat " fiart 40" year 2000
with twin Mercruiser 7.3 D-tronic LD engine and Bravo –X 3 outdrives. The engines has 300 Hrs

One week ago it was possible to run motors up to 3600 RPM, then 3200 max and now no more than 2900, with a more smoke than usual.

IT is the same for the 2 motors, Some one from mercruiser came with his computer control set and told me that the pressure to the turbo is 16 PSI instide of 34. but up to now he does not know why.
He wants to check fuel entrance pressure ??

All maintenace has been done and fuel filters changed (40 micron)
Do you have an idea of the problem.
Many thanks to all of you

Maybe I should add for better understanding, this boat was store in a close shelter for 2 years with "300liters of fuel in the tanks.
During the 10 first hours every thing was OK then as I said above impossible to run more than 2900 RPM.Air filters are new.
Thanks so much if some one could help

I have a 43 Sunseeker with the same engines. I had problem getting the RPM in one engine above 3200. The other (strong motor) easily got to 3800. I discovered a reoccuring problem with clogged filters. I installed new primary 10 micron and secondary 2 micron and have had no problems since. I change the filters every 40 hrs and now she goes like hell. I would go back and check the secondary filters(spin on).

hope this helps
