Marine 8 92 Natural 400hp I have noticed for some time on my port engine while at dock in idle the exhaust leaves diesel in the water and sometimes a few spots of oil. This occurred even after running the yacht in the harbor and returning to dock. What's up and is this a concern? I have searched the web but have had no luck. |

G'day nancy, If you need to leave Jimmy running light loaded for any length of time min revs should at least 1400rpm to help ward off cylinder glazing.Possible causes of exhaust diesel; #1 Cylinder glazing.[oil burning.] #2 Injector nozzle problem.[engine miss firing] #3 Burnt exhaust valve.[exh chuff or popping.] #4 cylinder not firing,[feel at exh manifold 4 cold 1] #5 Timing problem.[ check cause] Could oil spots be fuel+soot mix? Hope this helps, Shakey, |

Cylinder Glazing sounds possible and soot with diesel possible, also. I will check it out after running her at 1400 rpm for awhile. Thanks |
