I am trying to find out what detroit engine I have. There is no serial number on the tag, just a model number 2055 and unite which is 2A-21918 max 1620 no load rpm. This is a 2 cylinder engine.

the engine is a 2-71 detroit engine, built in the 1960,s the 2a21918 is the serial number

Do you have any idea the H.P. rating? The engine runs good and I would like to hook it up to a 15 or 20k genorator head if it has enough power. Thanks for your help.

depend,s on injector size ,inj 60=53hp@1800rpm &56hp@2000rpm.with inj size 70=61hp@1800rpm &65hp&2000 rpm
