I am in the process of building a 55 footer wooden fishing trawler with a vee bottom. My problem is engine selection. I want one engine(120-250hp) to power this boat.I am not interested in speed, I want an engine that can do the job and also with a good track record. I understand DD 6-71 is out of production. Suggestions are welcome. |

You can purchase a 285hp 6-71dd from stewart&stevenson it's still in production.If not a silver 6v-92ti is a reliable engine with 385hp. |
