I'm in the process of purchasing a Hat 43 Dual cabin of the early 70s vintage. We are looking for one with 6-71 naturals. Most of the boats we are looking at have n8o injectors I was wondering what fuel consumption we should expect at 1000rpm, 1500rmp, and 1800rpm. Also, I have heard that the 671 engines can be detuned by just changing out injectors. Is that true, or are there other steps needed to reduce the HP of these engines.

fuel consumption,1200rpm=30gph, 1500rpm=39gph, 1800rpm=48gph. and you can lower hp buy installing smaller injs. |

Hi Marvin, Thanks for taking the time to respond. I read in one of your responses to another 6-17 owner that changing out injectors to N55s would reduce the hp to approx 175/engine. YOu also mentioned that all that would be requried after the injector change would be to retune the engine. Sounds relatively straight forward. What kind of fuel consumption per engine would one expect with the N55s at various rpms.Again, I thank you for taking the time to respond. |

work boat spec f/l 1800 with n55 inj, gph@1800=9
1500=8, 1200=3.5 this per engine.also hp will onlybe 174@1800. dont know how this will push your boat |
