I have a 46" Bertram with a pair of 8v92 600 HP. One engine pours heavy brown smoke, worse when cold, as the boat comes up on plane. Once on plane the smoke is gone and I have just a very light haze behind the boat. When warm, the problem still exists but to a much lesser degree. I have checked and swapped out the fuel modulator, all injectors and serviced the airseps. I have also rebuilt the props and had them scanned to insure that they match. The motor turns the full 2300 RPM when up and running on the pins. Any input on this would be greatly appreciated. THe motors have 680 hours on them since major rebuild in 2002. |

have you checked the turbo rotors for free turning when cold mit be carbon slowing the wheels |
