I would like to install a switch to be able to turn off my supercharger when not needed. I have been told that fishing boat captains do this. Can anyone tell me how to do this? |

Reg It would seem to me that you would have to have a clutch unit on the charger drive pully. I would check with who ever built the engine. Most super charged engines require the charger to run properly. |

That engine has a 12v clutch on it that engages when needed. The computer gives it the signal to engage based on both an rpm range on my boat between 1400-2800 rpm and based on current rpm versus current throttle setting. IE from idle at 600 rpm if you bury the throttle the power demand will kick it in immediately. |

this was tried by the previous owner of my KAD300 when it was new- when the blower clutch was switched off, it affected the computer badly causing rough running, smoke and higher operating temp- he quickly reinstated the computer control of the blower- no lasting effect on the engine |
