I have recently acquired a sailboat with 1981 Volvo Penta MD7A. It cranks fast but does not start, I was told it has no compression and probably needs new rings (maybe pistions) and valve seals (sat unused for 1 year). Need to decide if this is worth fixing or should I give up and get an outboard. What is the estimated costs of parts and labor time needed for this kind of repair. |

I own a sailboat with a Volvo Penta MD7A engine, the water cooled exhaust bend broke due to corrosion (part # 8339988). I am looking for a Volvo Penta parts dealer in the USA where I can order spare parts by internet. I would appreciate your help. Thanks
