I have a tamd 72a 430 hp. The engine runs very well, but the crankcase filter (the upside down tin can with perferations on top) is a constant battle. I was wondering if any of you have installed either a Racor or Airsep on one of these motors, how the installation went and performance. Also, i know that people have made their own models, so that would be appreciated also. Thanks, Glenn |

Hi,I have 2x tamd 72a's as well and had a simular problem and have fitted racor remote crank case breathers that seems to have done the trick.Step one fabricate an adaptor to screw on where the filter was with a nipple to take a hose up to the remote crank case breather the exit of the crankcase breather can go to the engine air filter intake or outside the boat speak to your local racor supplier for info hope this has been of some help.ps check hose dia with racor. |
