Volvo MD2030 coolant problem

Author Message   John Della-Pietra New member Username: johndella Post Number: 2 Registered: 06-2009 Posted on Monday, June 08, 2009 - 08:44 pm:    Volvo recommend green coolant in heat exchanger I've found heavy corrosion in the heat exchanger and the water pump which are both alloy. Why is it that car manufacturers (Volkswagon, Audi, BMW) recommend strict use of red coolant with their motors that have alloy heads? Are these manufacurers wrong and Volvo right?
