I am trying to start an MD-11C Volvo Penta that's in a sailboat. There is a pushdown (vertical) button just behind the cylinders and along side it is a lever that operates a plunger horizontally (fore and aft). When I push the button in, it stays in until I pull the lever aft which disengages the button (it pops back up). I believe this lever was connected to a wire-in-cable that went to the cockpit ending in a small handle just aft of the throttle. Anyone know what this button and lever do? |

It is a remote stop cable if it comes in from the rear. There is a cold start button. It is on top of that case next to fuel injection pump. With throttle lever advanced, push it down and it should stay down. When unit is started it will pop back up. |
