Engine overheating over 3000rpm, under that engine runs perfect. I replaced internals of raw water pump including new impeller, checked oil cooler, changed thermostats, removed & cleaned heat exchanger, removed & cleaned exhaust elbow, aftercooler core was replaced about 1.5yr ago, so I assumed that would be ok, also swapped raw water pump from other engine, problem is still their. Any ideas or recommendations would be appreciated. I run the boat at least one or two times for the week, but recently discovered water was leaking from the sea water pump. It was since the rebuilding process of the sea water pump that the overheating started.}

I have had the same problem on my aqad41a. the first time it was a gasket out on the drive where the water neck for intake of salt water hooks on. it was fine untill i went on step and then this section of the water pickup uncovered and sucked air. after a new gasket it worked great again. last winter i started it up and had some ice in the seawater pump and the impeller shredded. I have cleaned everything, heatxchangers and everything i think, now im back to the same old problem. I think i will take the antifreeze, engine pump off next and see if the impeller is bad, good luck,and let me know if you get to the bottom of this. it runs great as long as i stay around 3000, after that it goes up in temp fast./ terry in alaska

Thanks Terrry I think I might have solved my problem. I pulled the back cover off the heat exchanger again & replaced the three little sealing strips that fit over the edges of the seperation sections, put the cover back & ran it, no alarm I could not believe it was so simple. I took the old strips off when I was cleaning the heat exchanger the first time & reused them, I guess they were too worn.}
