Hi, would anyone know whether the water pump shaft seal can be changed just by access through the front cover (after removing the impeller), or is it neccessary to remove the entire water pump assembly and attack it from behind. |

Didn't realise there were different models of the 2002! It is a Volvo Penta 2002 marine diesel, salt water cooled, built 1984, 2-cylinder. Thanks, Ian. |

Take out impeller, remove cam screw and cam,remove wear plate. Take hook and push out seal from open area in body where slinger ring is. Lube and push in new seal. Reinstall components and there you go. |
