Does anyone know if this engine exists without the turbo and if so what HP it would produce? Thanks |

Thanks for you reply. Its an insurance issue as our boat is only rated to 130hp and the previous owner put in this engine (160hp). I was hoping that not having a turbo would have reduced the HP. Any thoughts gratefully recieved! |

41 lowered rpm to decrease hp.They had a TAMD41H that was rated at 146hp at 26000rpm. Also TAMD41m that was 170hp at 3250 rpm. Without aftercooler TMD41 was 150 hp at 3800rpm. Might help. |

Thanks for that it seems you're better informed than the Volvo Europe who insists all TAMDs have turbos (below). Are you in the trade? Our local Volvo agent has had a look at the motor and has confirmed that there is no turbo. I'm hoping that them fact that the TAMD 41M A series don't have turbos may decrease the power output. Dear Mr Godwin, We assure you that the TAMD41M does have a turbo. Please refer to the below picture. The turbo is marked 'b'. Lest of course the previous owner removed the turbos... although we can't imagine that, as the engines would perform very poorly and produce lots of smoke.
